Host an Event at The Boone History Center

The Boone History Center is a unique, affordable, and comfortable venue for special events. From important meetings, to bridal showers and anniversaries, our facility is the perfect place to create lasting memories. Housed in a former masonic temple that was built in 1907, our basement community room (on the left below) can accommodate up to 130 people, has a fully-functioning kitchen, and is handicapped-accessible.

Contact us at to see if our community room is available. A building policy and rental agreement will be emailed to you to complete. You can also call and leave a message at 515-432-1907. Replies are faster via email because the Center is not staffed on a regular basis.

Community Room Rental Rates

Member, One-time Rental Rate: $75-$85

Non-Member, One-time Rental Rate: $100-$110

There are reduced fees for groups renting the community room on a recurring weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis.

Nonprofit, Reoccuring Rental Rate: $30-$35 per session

Forprofit, Reoccuring Rental Rate: $45-$50

The Community Room is only guaranteed when a signed agreement and payment are received; until then it is tentative.



Price depends on whether it is a non-profit or for-profit event.

All rentals require a refundable cleaning deposit that will be returned if room is cleaned as required.

Rental fees are usually non-refundable but special circumstances will be considered.
