No food or beverages are permitted in rooms where our museum exhibitions and collections are located.

Food and drink are allowed in the History Center’s community room only.

Cameras/Cell Phones

Cameras are permitted within our museums at this time, however, please turn off flashes as they can cause damage to some artifacts. Please do not talk on cell phones in our museums when other visitors are present.

Thank you for being considerate of other visitors’ experiences at our museums.

Holidays and Closings

All museums are closed on all major holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. If you have questions regarding our holiday schedule, please contact us at info@bchsiowa.org or call 515-432-1907 and leave a detailed message.

Groups

We love having group tours of all sorts come and enjoy our museums. From Scout troops to tour buses, from school groups to antique car clubs, we can accommodate a variety of groups. Please contact us at least 2 weeks before your visit so that we may adequately plan for your visit and arrange tour guides.

Email info@bchsiowa.org or call 515-432-1907 and leave a message. Since there are no employees, email gets answered much more quickly.

Hours of Operation

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all of our museums are currently closed.

To contact one of our Board members, call 515-432-1907 and leave a detailed message. The Center is not staffed full-time; the phone is only answered when a Board member is there. Phone messages may take 4-5 days for a response.
